Death of under trail youth of village Alipur turned out to be case of suicide: Khanna Police

Khanna, October 23, 2017: The death of an under trail youth of nearby village Alipur in firing turned out to be the case of suicide. He was on parole. Today morning, Jaspreet Singh (32) a youth was shot and found dead while his brother allegedly tried to misled the Khanna Police by saying that his brother was shot dead by unidentified persons but the police on suspicious ground investigated this case and found that the deceased youth committed suicide while his family members tried to give it a shape of firing by others but the police after preliminary investigation found it a concocted story and confirmed that this case was a suicide.
SSP Khanna Navjot Singh Mahal in a press conference gave information that Manpreet Singh brother of the deceased informed Khanna Police in the morning that his brother who was on parole from October 7 in a case under Sections 302, 452, 34 IPC was shot dead by some unidentified when he was working outside his house and his mother was out to fetch milk. Manpreet told police that his injured brother was rushed to Civil Hospital Khanna where he was declared brought dead.
SSP said that the police became suspicious and started investigating this case deeply. A team of Khanna District Police led by SP(I) RPS Sandhu and DSP Khanna JS Cheema found this firing incident by any outer person as a concocted story and investigated Manpreet- brother of the deceased who revealed during investigation that his brother had shot himself dead due to some mental tension after a phone quarrel with an NRI woman. Manpreet revealed that he had took out the illegal 32 bore revolved used by his brother in suicide and he put the revolver at a secret place from where the police recovered it with two live cartridges and also recovered one empty cartridge used in shooting.
SSP stated that a case under Sections 420, 182, 201 of the IPC and Sections 25, 54, 59 of the Arms Act has been registered against Manpreet Singh and he was formally arrested by Khanna Sadar Police.
SSP further said that the deceased was of a criminal nature and he along with others had killed a neighbourers due to illicit relations with a woman in 2009 and he was on parole. Now the deceased had developed links with an NRI woman and had even married her and today morning he had some spat with concerned woman on phone and later he shot himself dead.
SP RPS Sandhu, SP Balwinder Singh Bhikhi, DSP Khanna JS Cheema and other concerned officials of Khanna Police were present at press conference.
