DC urges people to use BIS care app to check products' quality

Nawanshahr, April 28, 2022: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa on Thursday appealed the people to use Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) care mobile app to verify the authenticity of products, hallmarked jewellery, electronic, medical, irrigation equipment, milk powder, packed water, sports items and others whenever they procure from the market.

Presiding over a presentation given by the Bureau of Indian Standards under Ministry of Consumers Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Deputy Commissioner said that this app can be downloaded through Google App store and the people can add the licence number to get the details of the authentic product in the app. NPS Randhawa told that every ISI marked article has a CML number and if the product is original, pure or genuine, the app will display complete details of the licence.

The Deputy Commissioner asked the officials of various departments that whenever they invite the tenders during any kind of procurement, they must seek only ISI marked material goods to ensure use of products as per standards of Indian Standards.
