Rohtak, December 30, 2025: Deputy Commissioner and Chairman, District Red Cross Society, Sachin Gupta, called upon youth to undertake first aid training with dedication and sincerity, stating that first aid is not just an academic course but a vital life-saving skill that can protect precious human lives. He remarked that a person who saves another’s life is no less than an angel.
The Deputy Commissioner was interacting with trainees during the ongoing 8-day Professional First Aid Training Programme at the Red Cross Bhawan, Rohtak, organised under the aegis of the Indian Red Cross Society. The programme is currently on its fifth day, with participation from around 360 youth, reflecting strong enthusiasm and social commitment among young citizens.
Emphasising the practical importance of the training, the Deputy Commissioner said that knowledge alone is not sufficient unless it is applied at the right time. First aid training enables individuals to respond promptly and effectively during emergencies and provide immediate assistance to those in need. He appreciated the keen interest shown by the trainees and encouraged them to undergo the training attentively and prepare themselves to act confidently in real-life situations.
Highlighting the wider relevance of first aid, the Deputy Commissioner stressed the need to extend such training to students of all government and private schools, colleges, and Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the district. He noted that victims of road accidents can often be saved if they receive first aid within the “golden hour”. Similarly, in cases of cardiac arrest, timely administration of CPR can save lives. He added that CPR training forms an integral part of the first aid programme being imparted.
The Deputy Commissioner also visited a blood donation camp organised by the team of the Indian Red Cross Society Blood Bank. He encouraged blood donors by personally motivating them and affixing badges as a mark of appreciation.
Addressing the donors, DC Sachin Gupta said that there is no substitute for human blood, and only voluntary blood donation can save the lives of those in critical need. He appealed to the youth to donate blood at regular intervals for the welfare of humanity and to ensure adequate availability of blood. He clarified that blood donation does not cause weakness; rather, it instils a sense of vitality and well-being.
The event was also attended by Ankush Miglani, Vice Chairman, Haryana State Red Cross Society, who interacted with the trainees and blood donors.
