DC Sachin Gupta issues orders for effective flood management
Deputy Commissioner & Chairman of District Disaster Management Authority, Rohtak, Sachin Gupta, has issued strict instructions to ensure effective management of water logging, floods, and related challenges. As per the orders issued by the Deputy Commissioner, personal responsibility has been fixed for all department heads, superintending engineers, and executive engineers regarding resources. Any negligence, delay, or laxity will make the concerned department head liable, and strict departmental action will be taken against them.

Rohtak, August 31, 2025: Deputy Commissioner & Chairman of District Disaster Management Authority, Rohtak, Sachin Gupta, has issued strict instructions to ensure effective management of water logging, floods, and related challenges. As per the orders issued by the Deputy Commissioner, personal responsibility has been fixed for all department heads, superintending engineers, and executive engineers regarding resources. Any negligence, delay, or laxity will make the concerned department head liable, and strict departmental action will be taken against them.
All department heads, superintending engineers, and executive engineers have been directed to ensure deployment, operation, and performance of machinery and departmental resources. The orders state that continuous monitoring of waterlogging, floods, and rainwater drainage is mandatory. Officers must ensure that no area remains neglected.
All SDMs have been instructed to personally monitor sensitive points. They will ensure that staff from public health, irrigation, PWD, municipal bodies, panchayats, and other departments remain deployed at their respective duties with clear responsibilities. All senior officers will conduct regular field inspections. Engineering department officers and employees must remain present at their stations with full manpower and machinery. They have also been directed to maintain constant communication with local citizens and public representatives so that immediate action can be taken in any situation.
Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta informed that a 24-hour control room is operational in the office of each SDM. At the district level, the control room is operated by the District Revenue Officer. Proper coordination, communication, and prompt action will be ensured in all these control rooms. At the district level, the Flood Branch has been set up in Room No. 102 of the Mini Secretariat, Rohtak. Citizens can inform about waterlogging on the control room phone number 01262-230401. All SDMs and the District Revenue Officer have been instructed to maintain coordination with all departments.
The orders issued by the Deputy Commissioner further state that a daily report must be submitted to the respective SDM office regarding action taken in waterlogged areas, deployment of officers and employees at identified points, and the status of resources. Any delay in submitting the report will be treated as serious negligence. Officers and employees will not be allowed to leave their station without prior approval from the competent authority.
