DC Sachin Gupta inspects Flood Mitigation Measures in Water logging-Prone Villages

Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta held a pre-review meeting with officers of the Irrigation Department to review the district’s flood mitigation agenda aimed at effectively checking flooding and water logging in all vulnerable areas of the district.

Rohtak, December 23, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta held a pre-review meeting with officers of the Irrigation Department to review the district’s flood mitigation agenda aimed at effectively checking flooding and water logging in all vulnerable areas of the district.

Chairing the meeting at the Video Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat, the Deputy Commissioner stated that the purpose of the pre-review was to ensure that all flood-prone and water logging-affected zones are comprehensively identified and taken up for appropriate mitigation works so that effective solutions are implemented before the monsoon season.

DC Sachin Gupta emphasized that the district administration is committed to preventing waterlogging during the rainy season and ensuring quick drainage in the event of heavy rainfall. He directed the officers to prepare a comprehensive, village-wise assessment of flood-prone locations, proposed interventions, drainage capacity, and expected outcomes to facilitate timely approval of flood mitigation projects.

The Deputy Commissioner also instructed DRO Pramod Chahal to provide detailed information regarding compensation disbursed over the last three years for crop damage caused due to flooding and water logging. He reviewed the status of already approved flood mitigation works and discussed additional measures required in vulnerable areas.

After the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta inspected proposed flood mitigation arrangements in villages including Mokhra, Behlba, and Madina along with Irrigation Department officers. He directed that flood mitigation measures be planned in a manner that prevents waterlogging during normal rainfall and ensures rapid evacuation of excess water during heavy rainfall events.

Senior officers from the Public Health, Revenue, and Irrigation Departments, including Superintending Engineer Shivraj, DRO Pramod Chahal, Executive Engineers Arun Munjal, Rajiv Rathi, Arun Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, SDO Sujeet, Ankit Jain, and other concerned officials were present.
