DC Sachin Gupta inspects drainage works during late-night rains; instructs to take necessary steps for Permanent solution for drainage in identified areas

Rohtak, September 2, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta has directed concerned officials to prepare permanent projects for rainwater drainage from various areas of the city. On Monday late night, during rainfall, he visited different parts of the city along with officials from various departments to review drainage works and issued necessary instructions on the spot.

While inspecting Sonipat Road, Sachin Gupta instructed that water drainage work must be ensured immediately, and to avoid future water logging, the concerned department should prepare a permanent project. While inspecting the Gaukaran area, he informed that a disposal system will be constructed here for rainwater drainage. An estimate of ₹17 crore has already been approved for the construction of the disposal. A pipeline of about 4.5 kilometers will be laid to directly discharge the rainwater into Drain No. 8. He further instructed that, for the time being, additional resources should be used for water drainage from the Gaukaran area. Similarly, he directed the preparation of a permanent project for drainage at Saini School Road near the Radio Station.

Late at night, amid rains, the Deputy Commissioner visited Saini School Road, Prem Nagar, Civil Road, Subhash Road, Gaukaran, Gohana Adda, Jind Road, Sukhpura Chowk, Sonipat Road, and Ram Gopal Colony, among other areas, and instructed that concerned officials and employees remain alert for drainage works. He emphasized that in case of water logging in any area, immediate drainage should be ensured. He directed that drainage works must be treated as a priority. Rainwater and sewerage lines should be maintained properly so that rainwater can flow out smoothly.

During the inspection, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr. Anand Kumar Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner Narendra Kumar, DRO Pramod Chahal, and X.En. Public Health Engineering Department Sanjeev Kumar, along with officials and employees of the Municipal Corporation and other departments, were present.
