A full dress rehearsal was conducted at Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex, Rohtak, to give final shape to the preparations for the district-level Republic Day celebration scheduled on January 26. All programmes planned for Republic Day were rehearsed in real time, including parade, march past, and salute, tableaux timelines and stage arrangements, to ensure flawless execution on the main day. Discipline and coordination were clearly visible across the venue.

Rohtak, January 25, 2026: A full dress rehearsal was conducted at Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex, Rohtak, to give final shape to the preparations for the district-level Republic Day celebration scheduled on January 26. All programmes planned for Republic Day were rehearsed in real time, including parade, march past, and salute, tableaux timelines and stage arrangements, to ensure flawless execution on the main day. Discipline and coordination were clearly visible across the venue.

Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta inspected the parade and took the salute during the march past. After hoisting the flag during the rehearsal, he, along with Parade Commander IPS Ravindra Kumar, inspected the parade contingents in an open jeep. Under the leadership of the Parade Commander, all eight parade contingents performed an impressive march past from the main stage, to which the Deputy Commissioner took the salute. Addressing the contingents, the DC emphasized discipline, coordination and punctuality, and issued necessary instructions. Security, traffic management and emergency arrangements were also tested during the rehearsal.

Speaking to the media after the full dress rehearsal, Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta said that all officers discharged their duties efficiently. He appreciated the attractive cultural programmes presented by various schools and informed that Haryana Cooperation Minister Dr. Arvind Kumar Sharma will unfurl the national flag at the Republic Day ceremony. He appealed to district residents to attend the event in large numbers and directed all officers to report to their assigned duties on time. He described adherence to timelines for tableaux, robust medical arrangements and inter-departmental coordination as key to the success of the ceremony.

The march past included contingents led by SI Manjulata (Haryana Police Women Contingent), PSI Gaurav Chhakkar (Haryana Police), SI Ashok Kumar (Home Guards), Under Officer Yuvika Fogat (NCC Girls), Under Officer Himanshu (NCC Boys), Yashvi (Scout & Guide Girls), Ayush Arya (Scout & Guide Boys) and Ashif (GD Goenka International School Band).

In the final rehearsal, 1,700 students from 22 schools presented an impressive mass physical display. Cultural performances included Mallakhamb by Ladhot Gurukul, group dance by Model School, “I Am the Flame” group dance by JED Global School, Punjabi Giddha based on Baisakhi by Swami Nityanand Public School, dance and gymnastics by Pathania Public School, and Haryanvi folk dance by PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School, Model Town. The rehearsal concluded with the National Anthem presented by students of Model School.

Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta visited the State-level War Memorial at MDU, paid homage to martyrs and inspected the ongoing preparations there, issuing necessary directions on the spot.

Senior officials present included SP Surender Singh Bhoria, SDM Ashish Kumar, RTA Secretary Virender Singh Dhull, Joint Commissioner MC Manjeet Singh, MD Rohtak Cooperative Sugar Mill Shweta Suhag, MD Meham Sugar Mill Mukund Tanwar, City Magistrate Ankit Kumar, OSD to Divisional Commissioner Shubham, DSP Ravi Khundia, Civil Surgeon Dr. Ramesh Chandra, DRO Pramod Chahal, DDPO Rajpal Chahal, District Sainik & Paramilitary Welfare Officer Wing Commander Gaurika Suhag, DEO Manjeet Malik and several other officers, principals, lecturers and staff.

Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta said that besides the district-level function, sub-divisional Republic Day celebrations will also be held on January 26 at Sampla and Meham. In Meham, MLA Sunil Satpal Sangwan (Charkhi Dadri) and at Sampla, Zila Parishad Chairperson Manju Hooda will perform the flag hoisting as Chief Guest.
