Rohtak, September 10, 2025: DC Sachin Gupta directed health officials to conduct raids on individuals involved in illegal prenatal sex determination and female foeticide in order to improve the sex ratio in the district.

Presiding over a PNDT review meeting in the Mini Secretariat conference hall, he instructed officers to continuously monitor ultrasound centers and ensure no illegal sale of MTP kits takes place. There are 10 government and 29 registered private centers in the district authorized to sell such kits. He emphasized strict enforcement of the Chief Secretary’s guidelines.

He further directed that in low sex ratio villages, joint monitoring teams should be formed including village secretaries, ASHA workers, and Anganwadi workers. Since last November, 16 raids have been conducted in the district – 9 under PNDT and 7 under MTP.

The DC instructed that no ultrasound should be done without ID proof. Awareness campaigns should be conducted in villages to eliminate gender discrimination. Students in both government and private schools should also be sensitized. Women who undergo abortions should be tracked back. Special monitoring was emphasized in the Kahnour area.

Chairing a meeting on the special immunization campaign, the DC said that during the campaign from September 17 to 27, vaccination of all target children and pregnant women must be ensured. Extra focus should be given to high-risk areas. Private hospitals must also upload vaccination data on the portal.

He instructed the Education Department and Women & Child Development Department to collect vaccination certificates of children studying in government and private schools, as well as those attending Anganwadi centers and play schools. He also directed that all students be made aware of cleanliness through special campaigns.

The DC instructed that citizens should be made aware of prevention from vector-borne diseases. Awareness campaigns should also be organized in schools and Anganwadi centers to educate children about hygiene. He directed the Education Department to ensure no waterlogging in school premises and to conduct fogging.

He instructed health officials and IMA members to ensure no hospital charges more than ₹600 for dengue tests. PWD officers were instructed to repair potholes on roads, arrange proper drainage, and clean roadside drains. Health officials should identify potential breeding areas to prevent vector-borne diseases.

The DC directed the Public Health Department to collect and test drinking water supply samples from Lahli village. It must be ensured that citizens get clean and safe drinking water. The Transport Department was instructed to auction condemned tires kept in workshops to prevent mosquito breeding. Officers must also ensure cleanliness in their offices and residences and prevent mosquito larvae from breeding in coolers, etc.

The meeting was attended by DSP Gulab Singh, DDPO Rajpal Chahal, Civil Surgeon Dr. Ramesh Chander, IMA President Dr. Aarti Sahu, and other health officials along with officers from related departments.
