DC Sachin Gupta directs to Issue Challans against Those Discharging Wastewater into Drain No. 8 and Other Connected Channels
Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta issued necessary directions to the concerned officers in connection with preparation and implementation of the Yamuna Action Plan. He directed that a committee be constituted to inspect all points included in the agenda within the next two days and submit an action taken report.
Rohtak, December 19, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta issued necessary directions to the concerned officers in connection with preparation and implementation of the Yamuna Action Plan. He directed that a committee be constituted to inspect all points included in the agenda within the next two days and submit an action taken report.
DC Sachin Gupta was chairing a meeting regarding the Yamuna Action Plan held at the auditorium of the Mini Secretariat. He stated that as per the directions of the National Green Tribunal (NGT), only treated water is permitted to be discharged into Drain No. 8. He instructed the concerned officers to inspect all designated points and ensure that no untreated or polluted water is discharged into any drain at any location in the district. Directing the officials of the Haryana State Pollution Control Board, he said that challans must be issued against violators of NGT directions.
The committee constituted by the Deputy Commissioner includes the Executive Engineer of the Irrigation Department, the Executive Engineer/Sub-Divisional Officer of the Haryana State Pollution Control Board, a representative of the DRO, and officers from other concerned departments. The committee will examine all aspects related to the discharge of wastewater into Drain No. 8 and other connected channels and will immediately stop any agency found discharging untreated waste into the drains.
The Deputy Commissioner further directed that it must be ensured that in future, untreated wastewater is not discharged under any circumstances. The inspection team has been instructed to submit a detailed compliance report of its actions in the meeting scheduled for December 22, so that further stringent action may be taken if required. He clearly stated that any negligence towards environmental protection and cleanliness of the Yamuna River will not be tolerated.
SE (Irrigation) Balraj, SE (Public Health) Shivraj, DDPO Rajpal Chahal, Executive Engineers Arun Munjal, Sanjeev Kumar and Naveen Kumar, BDPO Rohtash, along with officers and officials of other concerned departments, were present in the meeting.
