Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta directed sports department officials to ensure all necessary arrangements for the district-level sports activities to be organized from August 29 to 31 on the occasion of Major Dhyan Chand’s birth anniversary. From August 29 to 31, hockey, judo, boxing, kabaddi, cycling, handball, and volleyball competitions will be held for boys and girls at 3:30 PM daily at the local Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex. These sports activities will be broadcast live.

Rohtak, August 27, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta directed sports department officials to ensure all necessary arrangements for the district-level sports activities to be organized from August 29 to 31 on the occasion of Major Dhyan Chand’s birth anniversary. From August 29 to 31, hockey, judo, boxing, kabaddi, cycling, handball, and volleyball competitions will be held for boys and girls at 3:30 PM daily at the local Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex. These sports activities will be broadcast live.
DC Sachin Gupta was reviewing preparations for the district-level sports activities in the conference hall of the Mini Secretariat. He took detailed information from the sports officer about the sports stadiums and sports nurseries located in the district. He said that as per government instructions, district-level sports activities must be successfully organized on Major Dhyan Chand’s birth anniversary from August 29 to 31. As per the schedule, hockey and judo competitions will be held on August 29, boxing and kabaddi on August 30, and cycling, handball, and volleyball on August 31.
The Deputy Commissioner said that necessary arrangements for all these sports should be made at Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex. He also added that preparations should be made to organize Khelo Rohtak competitions on the lines of Khelo India. He directed District Informatics Officer Mahesh Bhardwaj to make arrangements for the live telecast of the sports events from August 29 to 31. He instructed education department officials to organize various sports competitions at school and college levels and the winners will be felicitated on August 31 during the district-level sports activities.
