DC Sachin Gupta directs officials to ensure Republic Day preparations befitting the dignity of the National Festival
Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta directed officers to complete all preparations for the Republic Day celebrations well in time, ensuring that the dignity and sanctity of the national festival are fully upheld. He instructed the concerned departments to prepare grand tableaux based on the Vande Mataram and Atmanirbhar Bharat themes, as prescribed by the Government for Republic Day processions.
Rohtak, January 5, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta directed officers to complete all preparations for the Republic Day celebrations well in time, ensuring that the dignity and sanctity of the national festival are fully upheld. He instructed the concerned departments to prepare grand tableaux based on the Vande Mataram and Atmanirbhar Bharat themes, as prescribed by the Government for Republic Day processions.
The Deputy Commissioner was chairing a review meeting at the conference hall of the Mini Secretariat regarding preparations for the Republic Day celebrations. He said that Republic Day functions would be organized with due grandeur at both district and sub-divisional levels. All officers were instructed to ensure arrangements strictly in accordance with the decorum of the national occasion so that the celebrations are conducted smoothly and with dignity.
He informed that the district-level Republic Day ceremony would be held at the local Rajiv Gandhi Sports Stadium. Keeping weather conditions in view, an alternative venue would also be identified. The UHBVN was directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the event.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Rohtak, would be the Overall In-charge of the district-level function. The District Soldier and Ex-Servicemen Welfare Officer was directed to make all necessary arrangements for the wreath-laying ceremony at the State War Memorial (MDU) prior to the main function on January 26, and to ensure proper seating arrangements for war widows and families at the ceremony venue.
Directing the officials of the Municipal Corporation, he instructed that cleanliness arrangements be ensured at the venue before the ceremony as well as proper cleaning after the event. In addition, decoration of major city chowks would also be undertaken.
He further directed that the DEO will ensure complete preparation of students participating in the mass physical display. Arrangements for rangoli at the venue would also be made. Six cultural programmes would be prepared for the Republic Day function. Necessary directions were issued regarding marching contingents and parade participation. Adequate arrangements for flags on the track would be made by the Police/Nazir. A rehearsal committee would be constituted, and high-quality sound arrangements would be ensured for the event.
DC Sachin Gupta said that individuals who have rendered outstanding services in various fields would be honoured with appreciation certificates during the Republic Day celebrations. All departments were directed to recommend at least one officer/employee for exemplary work by filling the prescribed proforma and submitting it online to the Deputy Commissioner’s office email ID [email protected] by January 10, 2026.
Similarly, non-governmental organizations performing outstanding work in various fields may also submit their recommendations online in the prescribed proforma by January 10. He clarified that only online recommendations will be accepted, and no recommendation received after the stipulated deadline will be considered.
Officials present on the occasion included the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Secretary RTA, Joint Commissioner Municipal Corporation, City Magistrate, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Civil Surgeon, DRO, DDPO, DMC, DEO, DEEO, Executive Engineers, DFSC, Election Tehsildar, Tehsildars, District Soldier and Ex-Servicemen Welfare Officer, along with senior officers from concerned departments.
