Rohtak, September 1, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta directed officials to prepare an action plan to deal with any emergency arising during the rainy season. He said that apart from drainage, special focus should be on cleanliness, sewer cleaning, power supply, and fogging in water-logged rural and urban areas to prevent dengue and malaria.

DC Sachin Gupta was reviewing drainage and the Haryana Shehar Swachhta Campaign with Municipal Commissioner Dr. Anand Kumar Sharma, ADC Narendra Kumar, and senior officers of related departments at the Mini Secretariat Conference hall. He instructed Irrigation, Public Health, UHBVN, PWD, and other departments to ensure effective drainage along roadsides and prepare contingency plans. The Public Health Department and other departments were asked to ensure de-silting and cleaning of drains to avoid any problems during drainage.

He directed that flood control rooms at district and sub-divisional levels must be functional 24x7 and records of phone calls received must be maintained. He reviewed the flood control room being operated by the District Revenue Office and inspected the registers maintained by staff. He further directed the DRO to prepare reports of actions taken on complaints received regarding flooding.

DC Sachin Gupta said that the district administration’s priority is to ensure drainage from inhabited urban and rural areas first, followed by continuous efforts to drain water from agricultural fields. He also reviewed arrangements made by the Irrigation Department and issued necessary directions. He asked all road-construction-related departments to give special attention to roads, central verges, streetlights, storm water drains, tricolor lights, and garbage collection under the cleanliness campaign. He directed that wall paintings also be done on boundary walls along main roads.

DC Sachin Gupta, after reviewing the flood prevention and sanitation arrangements, inspected Drain No. 8 along with senior officials of the concerned departments. During the inspection of Drain No. 8, he instructed the officers to ensure that the flow of water in the drain continues smoothly and that there is no obstruction in the drainage work. Continuous monitoring of the water level and embankments of the drain should be carried out.

On this occasion, RTA Secretary Virender Singh Dhull, City Magistrate Ankit Kumar, OSD to the Divisional Commissioner Shubham, Superintendent Engineer of UHBVN Bijender Narwal, Superintendent Engineer of Irrigation Department Shivraj, Superintendent Engineer of Public Health Department Shivraj, Civil Surgeon Dr. Ramesh Chandra, DDPO Rajpal Chahal, DRO Pramod Chahal, along with other senior officials of the concerned departments, were present.
