Rohtak, 10 November, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta has directed the district’s chemists not to sell medicines to customers without a valid prescription. He was addressing a meeting of district chemists today in the Mini Secretariat conference hall.

DC Sachin Gupta said that the administration and chemists are part of the same team, and it is their moral responsibility to prevent misuse of medicines. He instructed chemists to dispense medicines only on the basis of the original medical card and to stamp it before issuing any medicine so that customer records can be maintained. He also directed that it is mandatory to issue bills for all medicines sold. He added that doing so will keep chemists fully safe from any legal complications.

Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta said that government-prohibited medicines are at risk of misuse, and chemists must remain particularly alert. In this context, he specifically mentioned the Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) kit. He also pointed out that syringes are often misused, and therefore syringes must not be sold to non-medical practitioners. He further directed that all medicines should be purchased only from authorized dealers and that the supply chain must not be broken.
