Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta called upon residents to make cleanliness a public movement. He was addressing a meeting of principals of educational institutions regarding the ongoing Haryana Shehar Swachhta Campaign in the district at the Mini Secretariat Conference hall today.

Rohtak, September 1, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta called upon residents to make cleanliness a public movement. He was addressing a meeting of principals of educational institutions regarding the ongoing Haryana Shehar Swachhta Campaign in the district at the Mini Secretariat Conference hall today.
He said that on September 2 at 11 am, a cleanliness pledge will be administered simultaneously in all educational institutions, schools, colleges, universities, industries, offices, police stations, and police posts across the district. This pledge will be taken in both rural and urban areas.
DC Sachin Gupta said that the cleanliness campaign will continue consistently. The pledge program is only a beginning. He added that by taking this pledge, a person commits himself to being conscious about cleanliness, dedicating time for it, and also motivating others to stay clean and not spread filth. He emphasized that making the entire district clean and beautiful is a collective responsibility. Every citizen must contribute to cleanliness. He clarified that cleanliness is not just about picking up garbage, but also includes gardening, painting, drainage, and beautification works.
Municipal Commissioner Dr. Anand Kumar Sharma instructed that every BDPO, in coordination with the sarpanches, will administer the cleanliness pledge at 11 am on September 2 in their respective blocks. Similarly, heads or in-charges of departments and institutions will administer the pledge in their organizations. Responsibility of the concerned SDMs has also been fixed. Department heads were instructed not only to administer the pledge but also to ensure cleanliness in the surrounding areas.
Dr. Anand Sharma directed that all department heads and institution in-charges must upload video clips and photographs of the cleanliness pledge on the WhatsApp group. The meeting was attended by ASP Prateek Aggrawal, Special Officer (Sanitation) Pradeep Kaushik, City Magistrate Ankit Kumar, DEO Manjeet Malik, principals of various colleges, university representatives, and other officers
