Rohtak, September 6, 2025: Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Sachin Gupta said that dewatering of agricultural land in various villages of the district is progressing smoothly, with administrative teams continuously working in the field.

Inspecting the villages of Ajaib, Kharainti, Girawar, and Bhaini Surjanpur in Meham subdivision, he reviewed the water flow in drains, interacted with local residents, and issued necessary directions to officials.

During his visit, the Deputy Commissioner also inspected pumping houses, checked drain levels, and instructed officials to make maximum use of pump sets for draining accumulated water, while keeping in view the water levels in the main drains. He further directed the irrigation department to immediately remove any blockages to ensure smooth outflow.

DC Sachin Gupta assured that permanent drainage improvement projects will be sent for consideration in the upcoming flood management agenda. Appealing to villagers for cooperation, he emphasized that timely disposal of water is possible only through joint efforts of the administration and the community, adding that both sides are working together as one team for the welfare of farmers and villages.

Exercising powers under Section 17 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, the District Magistrate has appointed the SDMs of Rohtak, Maham, and Sampla as Duty Magistrates for 15 days. They have also been empowered to appoint further Duty Magistrates within their subdivisions if necessary, ensuring smooth and effective execution of dewatering operations at the ground level.

ADC-cum-CEO Zila Parishad, Narendra Kumar added that the administration will also move towards developing villages into model villages as per local requirements, with active community participation not only in water management but also in the overall improvement of rural infrastructure.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by SDM Meham Mukund Tanwar, X.En (Irrigation) Arun Munjal, DRO Pramod Chahal, along with officers from the irrigation and power departments.
