Ludhiana, February 11, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain on Wednesday reviewed the progress of three major Punjab Government initiatives - the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana, the Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra Scheme, and the Yudh Nashya Virudh campaign in Ludhiana.
To maximize registration in the shortest possible time under Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana, the district administration has been organizing special registration camps at 72 locations across all sub-divisions of district.
The Deputy Commissioner directed officials to expedite the enrollment process so that every eligible family can avail the scheme’s benefit of free medical treatment up to Rs 10 lakh per year. He informed that registration requires the following mandatory documents including Aadhaar card linked with a mobile number, Voter ID card and birth certificate (for any family member below 18 years of age). Under the scheme, every family in Punjab is entitled to completely free treatment including hospitalization, diagnostic services and day-care procedures at government hospitals as well as empanelled private hospitals in Punjab and Chandigarh.
DC Jain reiterated that the district administration is fully committed to ensuring that no eligible resident of Ludhiana is left out of this transformative healthcare initiative.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner also took stock of the Mukh Mantri Tirath Yatra Scheme, under which eligible devotees are provided free pilgrimage facilities to sacred sites including Sri Harmandir Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib and other prominent religious places. The state government bears all expenses related to travel, accommodation, food and other arrangements. Jain emphasized that the scheme is open to people of all castes, religions, income groups and regions. He instructed officials to ensure hassle-free and comfortable journeys for all participants.
Separately, the DC also reviewed the ongoing Yudh Nashya Virudh campaign and asked the people to unite and actively support the fight against the drug menace until it is completely eradicated from the district.
The Deputy Commissioner underscored that these flagship programs reflect the Punjab Government’s commitment to the welfare and well-being of every citizen.
