DC reviews arrangements for 79th Independence Day Function

Ludhiana, August 1, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain on Friday conducted a comprehensive review of arrangements for the district-level 79th Independence Day celebrations, set to take place at the PAU grounds. The meeting aimed on ensuring a seamless and dignified event to mark this significant national occasion.
During the review, DC Jain meticulously discussed important aspects, including the hoisting of the national flag, security measures, traffic management, parking facilities, cultural programs, uninterrupted power supply, sanitation, and medical services. He engaged with heads of various departments to coordinate efforts and assigned senior officers to oversee preparations, ensuring the event is celebrated with patriotic fervor. A committee was also appointed to prepare cultural performances by students from schools and colleges across the district, aiming to showcase local talent and diversity.
DC Jain directed the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana to maintain cleanliness around the venue, including regular water sprinkling on access roads to control dust and the provision of temporary urinals and mobile toilets for attendees’ convenience. Additionally, he also asked the Commissionerate Police to ensure robust security measures to ensure law and order throughout the event. Rehearsals for cultural programs and other activities will commence on August 8 and the same will be held on August 11 and 12. A Full dress rehearsal will be held on August 13.
Prominent attendees included ADC Rakesh Kumar, SDM Jasleen Kaur Bhullar, Assistant Commissioner Payal Goyal, and other key stakeholders.
