Ludhiana, September 01, 2025: Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman, District Disaster Management Authority, Ludhiana, Himanshu Jain, on Monday issued an order stating:
“Additional Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana, vide his letter No. 383/ACP/D dated 01.09.2025, has requested this office that due to heavy rains, reverse flow is happening in Bhattia STP due to increase in water level in Sutlej River, due to which this STP is not functioning properly, due to which water can fill the low lying areas and there can be loss of life and property. Due to which he has requested to close the following dyeing and printing clusters –
1. Bahadurke Dyeing Association, Ludhiana.
2. Tajpur Road Dyeing Association, Ludhiana.
3. Industrial Area-A and Moti Nagar.
4. All dyeing industries located from Samrala Chowk to Jalandhar Bypass.
5. Dyeing clusters located in Focal Point Area
6. Other dyeing and printing washing units, District Ludhiana.
In view of the request made by the Additional Commissioner Municipal Corporation Ludhiana, the forecast of heavy rains and the situation of standing water in the city, I, Himashu Jain, IAS, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman, District Disaster Management Authority, Ludhiana, in exercise of the powers conferred on me under Section 34 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, hereby order the closure of the above mentioned dyeing and printing clusters with immediate effect until further orders.
These orders shall come into force immediately.”
