Ludhiana, September 13, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain today conducted an on-site inspection of the stone stud-laying operations in Sasrali Colony, a vital component of the intensified efforts to reinforce the Dhussi Bandh against the Sutlej River's erosive forces.

Jain also carried out a close examination of the specialized floating excavator now operational in the area, designed to redirect the river's flow and safeguard nearby farmlands.
Joined by villagers and drainage department officials, Jain underscored the accelerated pace of the stud installations, which are being meticulously overseen by technical experts to enhance embankment stability.
"The district administration has prioritized securing this special floating excavator," he stated. This strategic intervention alleviates the strain on the bandh, averting risks of structural compromise.

Jain conveyed gratitude to the local residents for their resolute involvement in the fortification drive, remarking, "The administration stands profoundly grateful for their steadfast partnership, which has been the cornerstone of our progress." He likewise lauded the Indian Army and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) for their indispensable expertise in embankment shoring and perpetual surveillance of at-risk zones, crediting their contributions to maintaining vigilance amid the receding yet unpredictable waters.
