DC honours NGOs, industries, hospitals, social workers for outstanding work in covid-19 pandemic

Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Friday felicitated representatives of various NGOs, industries, educational institutions, hospitals, social workers and others for their excellent performance in ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

While handing over appreciation certificates to them during a felicitation ceremony organized by an NGO Cityneeds, the DC along with Municipal Councillor Mamta Ashu lauded the vanguard role played by them in Covid-19 management in the district. He added that they all were on front foot during the pandemic and served the people. 

He called them unsung heroes in the battle against the deadly virus and said that the district administration would continue to felicitate such personalities. 

The Deputy Commissioner said that all of them have exhibited exemplary courage and determination in the war by vaccinating all which would save precious lives.

He further said that due to concerted efforts of these frontline warriors, the district was able to tide over the deadly second wave.

The Deputy Commissioner exhorted them to continue to perform such social service with renewed zeal and passion. 

He said that the indomitable spirit and fortitude displayed by them was an example for the others.

He expressed hope that the they would continue to perform exceptionally well in ensuring service to humanity. 

Prominent among present on the occasion included Civil Surgeon Dr Kiran Gill, Dr Bishav Mohan, Dr Puneet Juneja and others.
