Ludhiana, September 14, 2026: A district-level meeting regarding preparedness for the Paddy Stubble Burning Season 2026 was held today at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain.
Reviewing the preparedness, the Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments to maintain strict vigilance and carefully monitor stubble burning incidents in their respective areas and ensure timely action as per the prescribed guidelines.
He directed the SDMs of Jagraon and Raikot to intensify awareness among farmers and undertake regular field-level monitoring, particularly in vulnerable areas, as these sub-divisions had reported a higher number of stubble burning incidents during the previous season.
The Police Department was directed to conduct daily patrolling in vulnerable areas, maintain close coordination with field officers and take necessary action against violations as per rules.
Himanshu Jain emphasized that all departments must work in close coordination and adopt a proactive and preventive approach to effectively control stubble burning incidents during the upcoming paddy harvesting season.
