DC Himanshu Jain flags off mobile documentary van to spread Sri Guru Ravidass Ji's teachings and philosophy
As part of the Punjab Government's year-long programs dedicated to 650th Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji, Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Himanshu Jain today flagged off flagged off a van to villages of district Ludhiana, which would show a documentary disseminating message on the life, teachings and philosophy of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji.
Ludhiana, July 7, 2026: As part of the Punjab Government's year-long programs dedicated to 650th Prakash Purb of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji, Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Himanshu Jain today flagged off flagged off a van to villages of district Ludhiana, which would show a documentary disseminating message on the life, teachings and philosophy of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji.
He was also accompanied by ADC (Rural Development) Narinder Singh Dhaliwal.
DC Himanshu Jain stated that the Punjab Government had deputed two specially designed documentary vans for Ludhiana district. He said each van would cover two villages every day, taking Sri Guru Ravidass Ji's message of equality, social justice, devotion and universal brotherhood directly to the people. He added that, in the first phase, the vans would tour villages falling under the Samrala and Raikot subdivisions.
He further said that the specially designed vans were equipped with LED screens, on which a 30-minute documentary would be screened, depicting the life, teachings and philosophy of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji. He added that the campaign would connect the younger generation with Guru Ji's timeless teachings and inspiring them to build a harmonious and discrimination-free society.
The DC said that the documentary campaign was part of the Punjab Government's comprehensive programme to commemorate the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji. He added that Sri Guru Ravidass Ji had envisioned an egalitarian society free from caste discrimination and social inequality.
The DC urged people, especially the youth, to watch the documentary in large numbers and imbibe the ideals of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji in their lives. He said the campaign would help preserve and promote the saint's rich spiritual and social legacy among future generations.
