Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain conducted a thorough inspection of the central and women jail, assessing the facilities provided to inmates and undertrials.

Ludhiana, August 28, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain conducted a thorough inspection of the central and women jail, assessing the facilities provided to inmates and undertrials.
During the inspection, DC Jain meticulously reviewed the barracks, food services, sanitation, and other amenities. He emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of cleanliness, particularly in the kitchen, where he checked the quality and hygiene of the meals served to inmates. To improve accessibility, he directed the Public Works Department (PWD) to repair and upgrade the road conditions outside the jail complex, ensuring smoother access for visitors and staff.
In a meeting with jail officials, Jain discussed reviewed administrative processes and issued clear instructions to streamline procedures, ensuring that undertrials and prisoners meet their family members in accordance with protocols. He also inquired about the health and well-being of the inmates, stressing the need for regular medical check-ups and access to adequate healthcare facilities.
At the women’s jails, DC Jain instructed the jail administration to provide additional support services, including counselling and vocational training programs, to aid rehabilitation and skill development.
