Ludhiana, Oct 28,2025: Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain and SSP Vigilance Rupinder Kaur Sra on Thursday called upon the youth to take a proactive and constructive role in eradicating corruption, emphasising that building a transparent and accountable society is a shared national responsibility.
The appeal came during the release of the official poster for Vigilance Awareness Week-2025, observed under the theme ‘Vigilance – Our Shared Responsibility’.
Both DC and SSP stressed that youths have a great responsibility on their shoulders for creating a transparent system in the society. The dreams of our freedom fighters can only be realised in a corruption-free India. The youth, as the backbone of the nation, have a historic responsibility to reject bribery, expose malpractices, and champion integrity in every sphere of life. Corruption is a betrayal of public trust and a barrier to progress. It must be uprooted collectively.
Jain and Sra stated that it is high time that all of us must make a firm commitment to not to indulge in bribery practices as it is an evil for the society and needed to be eliminated as soon as possible. It is our collective responsibility to join hands with the state government to curb corruption. They further added that the observation of 'Vigilance Awareness Week' aims at creating awareness and encouraging all stakeholders to collectively participate in the fight against the menace.
They encouraged all stakeholders to collectively participate in the prevention of, and the fight against corruption. They also urged the public to send tip-offs on corrupt practices to the vigilance department so that action could be taken against the culprits.
