Dayanand Medical College & Hospital Introduces Advanced OCT Angiography Technology for Improved Eye Care
DMC&H has strengthened its ophthalmic diagnostic services with the acquisition of an advanced OCT Angiography (OCT-A) (CIRRUS 6000) system from ZEISS, further enhancing its capabilities in the diagnosis and management of complex retinal and glaucoma disorders.

Ludhiana, August 12, 2026: DMC&H has strengthened its ophthalmic diagnostic services with the acquisition of an advanced OCT Angiography (OCT-A) (CIRRUS 6000) system from ZEISS, further enhancing its capabilities in the diagnosis and management of complex retinal and glaucoma disorders.
The new technology provides high-resolution, non-invasive imaging of the retina, macula and optic nerve, allowing clinicians to evaluate retinal and optic nerve microvasculature in greater detail. This can aid in earlier diagnosis, disease monitoring and more precise treatment planning for patients with retinal diseases and glaucoma.
At the launching ceremony, Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society; Mukesh Verma, Treasurer, DMC&H Managing Society; Dr. Sandeep Kaushal, Dean Academics; Medical Superintendents Dr. Sandeep Sharma and Dr. Ashwani K. Chaudhary; and faculty members from the Department of Ophthalmology were present.
Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society, stated that, the new OCT Angiography facility will further support comprehensive retinal and glaucoma services at DMC&H, combining advanced imaging technology with specialist clinical expertise for better patient care and outcomes.
Dr. G.S. Wander, Principal, DMC&H, said that the new OCT Angiography facility will further enhance the diagnostic capabilities of the Department of Ophthalmology. He added that the facility will enable more precise evaluation of retinal and vascular changes, supporting timely diagnosis and appropriate treatment planning for patients.
Dr Gurvinder Kaur, Professor & Head of Eye Department said that, the advanced OCT-A platform is particularly valuable in conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vascular diseases and glaucoma, where detailed assessment of vascular and structural changes can support clinical decision-making.
With this addition, DMCH continues to strengthen its commitment to providing advanced, technology-driven eye care, bringing state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities to patients in the region.
