Day long Karigari Bazaar organised by budding entrepreneurs in Home Science College

Chandigarh, March 14, 2023: Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Placement Cell organized a ‘Day Long Karigari Bazaar Exhibition cum Sale’ in the college in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE) Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India on March 10. 

The Chief Guest for the event was Samarth Sharma, Consultant, MGNCRE.  The event provided a huge platform to bring together  the budding entrepreneurs as it aided in their entrepreneurial skill building. The main goal was to promote social and rural entrepreneurship by forming student's Self Help Groups. The students of undergraduate and postgraduate courses put up numerous stalls to sell and exhibit their products. The stalls ranged from delicious sweet treats, nutritive millet based snacks and refreshing beverages; hand made home decor accessories like paintings, wall hangings, table runners, napkins; stationery items like handmade bookmarks, glitter sheets, designer tapes; cosmetics and beauty accessories such as handmade paper jewellery, oxidised jewellery, bracelets, rings, hair clips; handmade recycled tote bags; beautiful block painted, tie and dye dupattas, pakistani dupattas, bandhej chunni, etc. The event witnessed huge footfall and was enjoyed by one and all.

The Principal of the college Prof. Sudha Katyal applauded the efforts of the students in putting up the various stalls and exhibiting their skills.
