Jalandhar, September 13, 2015: ‘Hindi Samarpan Samaroh’ was organised at Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-The Heritage Institution, Jalandhar on Saturday. Inner struggle of consciousness: Hindi in the 21st century was the topic of the meet. The ‘Samaroh’ was chaired by Shri Chandra Mohan Ji, President Arya Shiksha Mandal. Dr Awadesh Kumar Singh, Director Translation Studies and Training at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) delivered the key note address. Dr Ravi Kumar, Head Dept of Hindi at Punjabi University, Patiala expressed his opinions on the topic as a subject expert. Dr. Suresh Seth a renowned creative writer and journalist’s presence on the occasion added to its intellectual arena. Dr. Awadesh Kumar talked about the progress of language in the past 7000 years and said that facts boldly displayed the others will merge with them. He said that Hindi was our National language but its progression depended on its popularity amongst the common people. He said that to survive Hindi need not compete with other regional languagues, infact they were it source of strength and gave it shaped. He talked about generating goodwill for all languages at International level and also asserted that cultural development could not take place without development of language. In his talk subject expert Ravi Kumar said today there was no stagnation in the development and spread of Hindi Language infact its competitors had accepted its significant presence in the world scenario. He said the modern electronic and print media, through cinema, television, internet, and computer had played a pivotal role in the spread of Hindi language. Chairman, KMV, Shri Chander Mohan said that Hindi was developing at its natural speed, since it has been accepted and used as a medium of communication by a large section of population, for quite some time now. He warned against popularity of use of the deformed face of languages like Hinglish and said that English was a language which could be put to must use by us but the language of India’s personal, social interaction, and daily routine could only be Hindi.
