Day 2 of 6th Panjab University Rose Festival

Chandigarh, February 7, 2015: The second day of the 6th Panjab University (PU) Rose Festival saw competitions of Singing, Rose Quiz, Rangoli, Collage Making & Slogan Writing for school, college and university students as well as general public. These competitions saw large number of participants.

The main attraction in the festival was Rangoli and Singing competition which saw about 200 participants each. The singing competition ran from morning to evening. There was a lot of excitement in people, particularly children who came to participate. They were seen enjoying fun games like Ball Game, Ring, Bottle games, Balloon shooting, tambola etc. People were also enjoying Joy rides like Joint Wheel, Columbus Boat, Caterpillar, Mickey Mouse, Car, Jeep, Jumping etc. The food court and other stalls also saw a huge rush of visitors. The festival saw more crowds today as the day also marked the celebrations of Rose Day.

The second day of the event will feature Laughter Show and performances by Rock Bands “Raagalaap” and “Dhun” in the evening. Renowned Punjabi Comedians Vijay Khayali, Karamjit Anmol and Jagdeep Cheema will entertain the audience. 

For the competitions held during the day, PU, Registrar Col. G. S. Chadha (Retd.) and Controller of Examinations Prof. Parvinder Singh would be guest of honour and would also distribute prizes to the winners. / (SK Vyas/Jalandhar)
