Jalandhar, November 28, 2025: DAV University marked the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib Ji by organising a Blood Donation Camp under the joint initiative of the Red Ribbon Club of the NSS Department, the NCC Wing and the Department of Pharmacy, in collaboration with the Knowledge Villa Integrated Education and Welfare Society.
The Vice Chancellor and Registrar inaugurated the camp and paid homage to Guru Sahib. Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor said, “Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji’s supreme sacrifice for humanity is an eternal source of inspiration. By donating blood today, we honour his legacy of courage, compassion and protection of others.”
The Registrar added, “Commemorating this historic martyrdom anniversary through an act that saves lives truly reflects the values Guru Sahib stood for. Our students have carried forward that spirit with dedication.”
The camp was organised under the supervision of Dr. Samriti Khosla (NSS Coordinator), Dr. Vidya Pandey (Incharge, Red Ribbon Club), Dr. Ahmad Hussain (NCC), and Dr. Sudhir Kumar (Dean, Department of Pharmacy). NSS Programme Officers ensured the smooth functioning of the event.
A trained medical team from Knowledge Villa managed the screening and collection process. The camp successfully collected around 100 units of blood, showcasing the strong participation of students, faculty and volunteers.
Student volunteers from NSS, NCC and the Department of Pharmacy played a crucial role by assisting donors, handling registrations and coordinating arrangements throughout the event. Their commitment and teamwork were widely appreciated.
