DAV University Celebrates Birth Anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati 

The Department of Students’ Welfare, DAV University, solemnly celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati on  with great reverence and spiritual fervor on the university campus.

Jalandhar, February 12, 2026: The Department of Students’ Welfare, DAV University, solemnly celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati on  with great reverence and spiritual fervor on the university campus.
Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, the founder of Arya Samaj, was a great philosopher, social reformer, and scholar of the Vedas. His teachings on truth, righteousness, education, and social reform continue to inspire generations. To pay homage to his invaluable contributions and to inculcate moral and spiritual values among students, the university organized a Havan Yajna ceremony.
The sacred Havan Yajna was performed with traditional Vedic rituals, invoking blessings for peace, prosperity, and the well-being of all. The atmosphere resonated with spiritual chants and devotion as faculty members, staff, and students actively participated in the ceremony.
Students of the Psychology Department presented a soulful Bhajan Gayan on the occasion. Pratham, a student of the Law Department, participated enthusiastically in the program and addressed the gathering highlighting the life, philosophy, and reformist vision of Swami Dayanand Saraswati.
Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Sharma, Vice-Chancellor of DAV University, in his address, said, “Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati Ji’s vision of an enlightened and progressive society rooted in Vedic values continues to guide our educational philosophy. At DAV University, we strive to uphold his ideals by fostering academic excellence along with moral integrity.”
Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Arora, Registrar of the University, remarked, “The teachings of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati Ji emphasize truth, discipline, and social responsibility. Such celebrations remind our students of their cultural heritage and inspire them to contribute meaningfully to society.”
Dr. Kamaljeet Kaur Sidhu, Dean Law and Director Students’ Welfare, Dr. Yashbeer Singh, Deputy Director Sports, and Ms. Suruchi were also present during the Havan Yajna and offered their prayers on the auspicious occasion.
The celebration concluded with a collective pledge to follow the path of truth, education, and social reform as envisioned by Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, reaffirming the university’s commitment to holistic development rooted in Indian values.
