DAV College wins overall trophy in media fest 

Jalandhar: The Students of Journalism and Mass Communication Department of DAV College, Jalandhar won the overall trophy at the Media Fest "Media Mela 2020" held at Khalsa College, Amritsar. It is worth noticing that many colleges and universities participated in this fest and DAV College won 12 out of 16 competitions in this competition.

College Principal Dr. S. K. Arora on this outstanding performance of Journalism and Mass Communication Department congratulated Head of department Mrs. Meenakshi Sidhu , Professors and students . He said that journalism and mass communication department is a superior department and has also proved its superiority with this performance. He said that just a few days ago this department also organized a successful media fest. He extended his best wishes to the professors and students of the department for the future.

Head of the Department Prof. Meenakshi Sidhu expressed her happiness over this victory and said that it is always her endeavor to keep her students not only with bookish knowledge but also with practical knowledge. This is the reason that today the students of our department have won the overall trophy . She also praised the hard work of all the professors of the department and congratulated the students on their performance.

In this competition there were quiz , news anchoring, radio jockey, logo making, print aid, creative writing, street plays, extempore, choreography, short film, declamation, poetry, caption writing, ad mad, photography, interview seeking. . In which students of DAV College got first position in Ad Mad, Interview Seeking and Caption Writing whereas Second in creative writing, street plays and third in Quiz, Extempore, Poetry, Choreography, Print Ad and Declamation. Hence, DAV got the overall trophy.
