Darshan Singh Kular Played a Vital Role in Establishing the Cycle Industry
November 5 marks the 86th birth anniversary of Darshan Singh Kular, a visionary industrialist and technocrat who played a pivotal role in the establishment and growth of the cycle industry in Ludhiana.
                        Ludhiana, November 4, 2025: November 5 marks the 86th birth anniversary of Darshan Singh Kular, a visionary industrialist and technocrat who played a pivotal role in the establishment and growth of the cycle industry in Ludhiana.
Gurmeet Singh Kular, President of the Federation of Industrial and Commercial Organization (FICO), said that Darshan Singh Kular made significant contributions not only to the development of the cycle industry but also to Ludhiana’s overall industrial growth. Known for his innovative approach, he continuously worked on developing new products, conducting research, and improving various components related to the cycle industry.
Gurmeet Singh Kular further said that Founders’ Day is celebrated by the Darshan Kular Group on November 5, as on this day in 1939, Darshan Singh Ji Kular was born to Rattan Singh and Mata Sant Kaur.
After completing his 10th class from GGN Khalsa School, Gurusar Sudhar, in 1955, the Kular Brothers moved to Ludhiana. In 1956, they started their business by manufacturing bicycle mudguards at a rented unit, M/s Devki Nandan & Sons. By 1962, they had established their own venture, M/s Kular Cycle Industries, where they first developed machinery and then began producing bicycle mudguards and rims.
Today, with the blessings of their elders, the Kular Group has become a globally recognized name. The products of their various companies are renowned both in India and abroad for their quality and innovation.
