Dalai Lama congratulates winner of 2025 Nobel Peace Prize
The Dalai Lama has written today to Maria Corina Machado to congratulate her on being awarded this year’s Nobel Peace Prize for her resolute efforts to promote democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and her determination to achieve a peaceful, equitable society.

Dharamshala, October 11, 2025: The Dalai Lama has written today to Maria Corina Machado to congratulate her on being awarded this year’s Nobel Peace Prize for her resolute efforts to promote democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and her determination to achieve a peaceful, equitable society.
“In devoting yourself to democratic development,” he wrote, “you have shown steadfast courage in the service of others.
“By your own example you have reminded us of the need to speak out in defence of democracy and freedom.
“In your work to bring people together for a common hutton cause you embody hope that peace and harmony can be achieved.”
Concluding, he offered her his prayers and good wishes.
