Cyclothon promoting safe disposal of e- waste organized by Phoenix Marketcity in association with Decathlon, and BE water

Chennai: Phoenix Marketcity one of the premium mall in Chennai hosted an e-waste campaign aimed at spreading awareness on the safe and effective waste disposal of electronic gadgets. The 25-km cyclothon consisting of more than round 800 participants flagged off on Sunday at 7 am from Decathlon in West Mogappair had its finishing point at Phoenix Marketcity Chennai. The jubilant crowd cheered for their cyclists arriving at Phoenix Marketcity emphasizing and highlighting the need and significance of safe disposal of e-waste coupled with focus on the harmful environmental and biological hazards. The participants finally were awarded with certificates and gift vouchers from the Apple’s Premium Partner Store - Aptronix .
 
Noted ISRO Scientist Padma Bhushan Nambi Narayan also lauded the efforts while having inaugurated the e-waste bin at Phoenix Marketcity on Friday. E-waste is considered to be the fastest growing waste in the world and the event helped raise awareness through the initiatives taken by the Aptronix store in association with Decathlon. The fun filled e- waste cycle rally ended with participants receiving goodies and refreshments by the Aptronix Store culminating the end of the 3day Grand Carnival at Phoenix Marketcity, Chennai.
