It also promoted cycling which plays an important role in saving the environment and good health. The cyclists as well as the Members of FGMA paid a rich tribute to Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha and the rally started from the Statue installed in Feroze Gandhi Market Ludhiana. Prof Jagmohan Singh (Nephew of Shahid Bhagat Singh) was the Cheif Guest on the occasion and he urged the students and the gathering to tread on the path shown by our Great Martyrs and be guided by their spirit of bringing about a change in the society. The Cheif Guest along with the Guest of Honour, Prof Gurbhajan Singh Gill, an eminent writer, and President of FGMA, Er P S Gill, Retd. C. E. (PSPCL), flagged off the rally. The cyclists were led by S. Ranjodh Singh, Patron, and S. Davinder Singh Nagi, President of Ludhiana Pedallers and passing through Shaheed KSS Nagar, Shaheed Karnail Singh Nagar and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, it crossed the villages Dad, Lalton, Jodhan and finally reached the native village of the martyr, Sarabha. At the village, the participants of the rally, along with the villagers, garlanded the Statue of Shaheed Sarabha.
The hallmark of the day was the release of a beautiful Poster (painted by Sobha Singh) by Prof Gurbhajan Singh Gill and its copies were given to Hoshiar Singh Grewal, Chairman, for distribution among the students and the people from the village.
Prof Gurbhajan Singh Gill, Er P S Gill and Ranjodh Singh addressed the youth and stressed upon the need to follow the path shown by the martyrs and instead of falling a prey to drugs, they should imbibe the rich values that have been bestowed upon us by their predecessors. They also encouraged the youth to choose cycling for good health and clean and green environment. The Ludhiana Pedallers further resolved to unite for the noble cause of propagating Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha's ideals and help the village Sarabha in fulfilling their demands. After paying respects at Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha Memorial (Residence), the rally cycled back to the Feroze Gandhi Market.
