To mark International Women’s Week the Association of Pediatricians’ (AOP) of Chandigarh organized a ‘Cyclathon’ at Sukhna lake on Sunday.

Chandigarh, March 13, 2022: To mark International Women’s Week the Association of Pediatricians’ (AOP) of Chandigarh organized a ‘Cyclathon’ at Sukhna lake on Sunday.

Among others, the women wing of child specialists of tricity also participated in the ‘Cyclathon’.

Speaking during the occasion, Dr Rashmi Pandove, Principal Consultant- Pediatrics and Neonatology at Max Hospital, Mohali said that this year International Women’s Week was celebrated with a special theme of breaking all the gender based biases.

She further said that it’s a special day to celebrate the achievements of women as well as ways that we can work together to make the world a better place for everyone. Imagine a gender equal world, a world free of bias stereotypes and discrimination. A world that is diverse, equitable and inclusive where difference is celebrated and valued. Together we can forge women’s equality and collectively we can all break the bias, she asserted.

Dr Chaya Prasad a senior child specialist and behavioural and development Pediatrician also harped upon the need of increasing outdoor activities for kids and specially adolescent girls to prevent several lifestyle diseases.
