The Cyber Resilience Awareness Programme was organised under the RUSA 2.0 Outreach and Public Engagement Initiative on the theme “Building Cyber Resilience from Campus to Community” at the Centre for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Chandigarh, September 21, 2026: The Cyber Resilience Awareness Programme was organised under the RUSA 2.0 Outreach and Public Engagement Initiative on the theme “Building Cyber Resilience from Campus to Community” at the Centre for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
The programme was organised in the presence of Prof. Vishal Sharma, Department of Forensic Science, Panjab University; Dr. Manoj Kumar, Chairperson, Centre for Public Health, Panjab University; and Suveera Gill, Honorary Director, Centre for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
The occasion was further dignified by the presence of Col. (Dr.) Bhumesh Singh Dhadwal, Faculty, Centre for Public Health, Panjab University, Dr. Paravreet Kaur, Faculty, Centre for Public Health, Panjab University, and Ms. Poonam Sharma, Faculty, Centre for Public Health, Panjab University.
The lecture was delivered by Prof. Vishal Sharma, Department of Forensic Science, Panjab University, who highlighted the growing risks associated with cybersecurity and emphasised the importance of adopting safe and responsible digital practices. He discussed various cybersecurity threats and explained practical measures that individuals can take to protect their personal information, online accounts, and digital identity.
An important and interactive component of the programme involved participants being guided to check whether their email IDs had been exposed in any known data breach. This activity helped participants understand the importance of monitoring their digital accounts and taking timely measures to strengthen online security.
The session emphasised the importance of cyber awareness, responsible digital behaviour, protection of personal information, and preparedness against cyber threats. The programme aimed to build awareness among participants and promote a culture of cyber resilience extending from the university campus to the wider community.
The programme concluded with an engaging and informative interaction, providing participants with practical knowledge and greater awareness of the measures required to stay safe in an increasingly digital environment.
