CU Punjab Applauds Contributions of Administrative Leadership, Strengthens Skill Development and Infrastructure
The Central University of Punjab (CU Punjab) lauded the significant contributions of its administrative leadership during a statutory meeting held on Monday.
Bathinda, April 7, 2026: The Central University of Punjab (CU Punjab) lauded the significant contributions of its administrative leadership during a statutory meeting held on Monday. On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari appreciated the dedicated efforts of Registrar Dr. Vijay Sharma and Finance Officer Dr. Raj Kumar Sharma. He commended their role in expanding skill development opportunities for young learners and mobilizing valuable resources through outreach initiatives. Their concerted efforts have not only enhanced the university’s engagement with external stakeholders but have also contributed to strengthening institutional infrastructure, particularly in augmenting the transport facilities for students and staff.
It is noteworthy that the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, has recently been conferred Deemed Awarding Body–Dual Status by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India. This recognition marks a significant milestone for the university, enabling it to independently design, implement, and certify skill-based programmes in alignment with national standards. Leveraging this status, the university has introduced six new skill development courses aligned with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF). These courses are aimed at enhancing employability, fostering industry-relevant competencies, and empowering students with practical skills in line with evolving market demands.
In addition to academic advancements, the university has made notable progress in strengthening its physical infrastructure. Through sustained outreach and collaborative efforts, CU Punjab has secured voluntary contributions, including an ambulance from Axis Bank, interactive LED boards for classroom teaching from HDFC Bank, and a commercial vehicle from the State Bank of India (SBI). Additionally, a tractor has been committed by Canara Bank. These additions are expected to significantly enhance campus facilities, ensuring greater convenience and accessibility for students and employees.
Addressing the attendees, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari reiterated the university’s commitment to maintaining transparency, efficiency, and accountability in its administrative processes. He emphasized that the administration is working proactively to create a student-centric and employee-friendly environment. He further noted that the collective dedication of the university community continues to drive progress towards academic excellence, innovation, and meaningful societal engagement.
