CTIHM teaches hospitality and hygiene developing skills to CRPF Jawans


CT Institute of Hotel Management, Jalandhar on Wednesday organised four days training to the CRPF Jawans of Jalandhar on developing hospitality skill.

Jalandhar, May 7, 2014: Taking an initiative to develop the hygienic and hospitality skills to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Jawans, CT Institute of Hotel Management has organised four days training to the CRPF Jawans of Jalandhar on developing hospitality skill.
The camp was organized at the CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus where as many as 50 Jawans participated. The opening ceremony of the training was chaired by Sunil Thorpe DIG, CRPF; Charanjit Singh Channi, Chairman, Manbir Singh Managing Director, Harpreet Singh, Vice Chairman of CT Group of Institutions.
The purpose of the training was for developing the hospitality related skill among the CRPF Jawans as they are able to deliver their best to the society besides battlefield. The Jawans were taught table etiquettes, up keeping of room and other hygiene maintaining skills while preparing and serving food.
Besides, two days of the camp were rigorously spent on teaching international cuisine like Mexican, Lebanese, Thai and Indian cuisines to the Jawans. A team of expert gives presentation on Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) to CRPF Jawans.
Principal of CTIHM, Rohit Sarin informed that the Jawans were also taught about that HACCP is a systematic preventive approach to food safety from biological, chemical and physical hazards in production processes that can cause the finished product to be unsafe, and designs measurements to reduce these risks to a safe level.
The Jawans were also given firsthand knowledge on fire fighting and first aid given at different emergencies and a signature campaign at the mid of the training for helping the society was also organized.
Vice Chairman, Harpreet Singh said, “Hospitality skills like Atithi Devo Bhave and how to keep the society happy were discussed. These skills were taught to CRPF Jawans as this will in turn make them responsible citizen.”
Chairman of CT Group of Institutions, Charanjit Singh Channi, motivated the Jawans to deliver their best for the society.
