Jalandhar, October 15, 2019: CT Institute of Hotel Management (CTIHM) attempted a Limca Book of Record to mark the 550th Birth Anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The record for the 550 different types of sandwiches has been finally made by the students of Hotel Management under the patronage of CT Group of Institutions and Limca Book of Records at Shahpur campus.
In this event, 550 different types of nutritious and healthy vegetarian sandwiches were made by the students under the supervision of CTIHM Chefs and food experts from the industry with in a time span of 3 minutes and 39 seconds. The sandwiches were prepared using different breads like Focaccia, Oregano Bread, Brown Bread, Garlic Bread, Multi grain bread and Tutty Fruity bread and the different varieties of vegetables like zucchini, pimentos, broccoli with a combination of sauces like Chipotle sauce, mint mayonnaise, sweet chilly sauce, Thai chilly sauce, pesto sauce, sweet onion sauce etc.
These 550 different varieties of sandwiches were later distributed at Unique Home Jalandhar, Red Cross School for deaf Jalandhar and Baal Ghar Dham Talwani Khurd, Ludhiana.
On this occasion Dr. Bharat Kapoor, Director, CTIHM informed that the event was basically a live preparation of 550 different types of vegetarian sandwiches in which the students learned the knowledge of preparing healthy vegetarian sandwiches.
While appreciating the effort, Manbir Singh, Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions said, “I really liked the concept of Live preparation of food. The effort not only teaches the healthy way to prepare food to the society, food lovers and students but at the same time it engrossed their interest towards the cooking. We will soon be attempting a record for Guinness Book also.”
CT Group Chairman Charanjit S Channi, Vice Chairman Harpreet Singh, Tanika Singh, Campus Director Dr GS Kalra and Dean Academics Dr. Anupamdeep Sharma were also present.
