CT University's School of Healthcare and Paramedical Sciences celebrated ‘World Anaesthesia Day’

School of Healthcare and Paramedical Sciences, CT University celebrated ‘World Anaesthesia Day’ to mark the discovery of anaesthesia 176 years ago, which allowed patients to endure surgical procedures without feeling any pain.

Ludhiana, October 21, 2022:  School of Healthcare and Paramedical Sciences, CT University celebrated ‘World Anaesthesia Day’ to mark the discovery of anaesthesia 176 years ago, which allowed patients to endure surgical procedures without feeling any pain.
 
Students of Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Technology, School of Healthcare and Paramedical Sciences, CT University took part in various competitions consisting of scientific quiz, poster making, model making and rangoli competition.

Dr. Manendra K. Singla, Additional Director and HOD, Department of Cardiac Anaesthesia, Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana graced the occasion as the guest of honour and spoke on the topic ‘Patient Safety in Operating Room’. He emphasized on optimal error reduction (safety) system which should involve: Team Approach, Fair and Non-Threatening workplace, standardized approaches such as ‘Time out’.

Dr. Manbir Singh, Pro. Chancellor, CT University said “‘World Anaesthesia Day’ is marked to acknowledge one of the most significant breakthroughs in the history of medicine and has completely revolutionized the quality of healthcare”. Furthermore, he congratulated the Students of  Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Technology, School of Healthcare and Paramedical Sciences.

Dr. Atul Khajuria, Professor & Assistant Dean - Healthcare Sciences, CT University said health care is a major issue today for which new discoveries in medicine and other related fields are taking place at high level. That is why the School Healthcare and Paramedical Sciences of CT University is putting full emphasis on making the students learn more and become the life saviors.

The session ended with the hearty vote of thanks by Jaskeeratan Kaur, Assistant Prof. Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Department. On this occasion, Dr. Satish Kumar Bansal, Vice-Chancellor CTU, Dr. Umesh, Dean Academics CTU, Dr. Vir Vikram, Head, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty and students were present.
