CT University organizes expert webinar based on India-China Relations

Ludhiana: Corporate Resource Centre, CT University organized an expert webinar by Probal Das Gupta on ‘Why China’s Past Shapes the Covid World and How India-China relations were shaped in 1960s’; exclusively for the university students and faculty. The session was attended by more than 100 participants.
Probal is the author of "Watershed 1967: India's forgotten victory over China', a historian, a former soldier and a business leader. He addressed the participants with the history of India and China relations and pondered upon the past and the current issues which have changed the relations of the countries with each other. He enlightened the participants on the question "Why do viruses come from China all the time?"  In his own words, "To have a look at the current pandemic and what does it mean in terms of China's role in it, we have to go back in history and understand where did all this come from" He further added "The context of the virus and where China is at today is to be kept in mind when we look at it and examine the intent of China with respect to the world many years ago."
The session was moderated by Ati Priye, Dy. Director-EDC and he said "We are going to be an important part of the history that goes forward. The post COVID world will see taking away the dependency  from China and India's attraction on account of trade with others countries will increase but there will still be a connection with Chinese market as it’s a large market and we can't just wish away its presence from the market."
Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor CTU, said, “Such topics are need of the hour that bring the students more close to happenings in the society. These discussions make them active part of the social gatherings.”
