CT University's Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, School of Humanities and Physical Education recently hosted an Inter-school News reading competition. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 30 students representing various schools and departments.

Ludhiana June 23, 2023:  CT University's Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, School of Humanities and Physical Education recently hosted an Inter-school News reading competition. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 30 students representing various schools and departments.

The winners of the competition showcased exceptional talent and delivery skills, impressing both the judges and the audience. Dharya Kumar, a student of BSc Multimedia, emerged as the champion in the Hindi category. Ankush Kumar, a student of BJMC, secured the second position in the same category, while Sonali, an MSc phsycology student, claimed the third spot.

In the Punjabi category, Kiranpal Singh was declared the winner, displaying commendable proficiency in news reading. In the English category, Bareera Hajni, an MSc Physiology student, showcased her exceptional skills and was awarded first place. Janvi Jain, a BJMC student and Arashpreet Kaur, an MSc Psychology student, and Tenison, a BSc Economics student, secured the second and third positions, respectively.
 
The competition witnessed outstanding performances in the field of journalism.
 
Manpreet Kaur, Assistant Professor (Multimedia) Graced the occasion as Judge. Dr. Puneeta Sharma, an Associate Professor in the Department of Humanities, along with Dr. Azmat Ali and Pragya, both Assistant Professors in the Journalism Department, Students were present to encourage and support the participants throughout the event.
 
Dr. Puneeta Said, “the competition showcased the immense potential of the participants and their ability to effectively convey news in multiple languages. Dr. Sharma acknowledged the efforts of the winners and applauded their exceptional performances. She further encouraged all the participants to continue honing their skills and pursuing their passion for journalism”
