Ludhiana: CT University’s School of Law in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ludhiana, organized a free Legal Awareness Camp at village Sidhwan Khurd for the locals who were seeking legal advice.
 
Preeti Sukhija, CJM cum Secretary DLSA deputed a panel of four advocates and one Para Legal Volunteer for awaking the residents of village Sidhwan Khurd and neighborhood about various schemes offered by NLSA and DLSA respectively. Local residents came forward for taking advice regarding their legal issues from the panel of the DLSA advocates. The panel included Advocate Deepak Ghai, Advocate Varinderjit Singh, Advocate Sunita Goyal, Advocate Rama Bajaj and Sardar Balwinder Singh, Para Legal Volunteer.
 
Also, the panel detailed about the schemes on Juveniles, POCSO Act, Narcotics, Compensation scheme for cases of acid attack victims. The DLSA team also focused on sorting legal issues through ADRs. In response the local residents came forward for taking advice regarding their legal issues from the panel of the DLSA advocates.
 
Principal School of Law, Dr. Simranjeet Kaur Gill, said, “Students were also a part of this programme as this camp was for the practical exposure for budding lawyers. They were assisting in each case study and also narrated about their view points. This brings out confidence in a student and also makes better understanding about the society.”
