Smart COVID-19 smart band developed by CT University's robotics team.

Ludhiana, April 5, 2021: Keeping in mind the advisory to avoid touching your face during pandemic, CT University’s Robotics and Automation officials have designed and developed a ‘Covid-19 Smart Band’.

Dr. Harmeet Singh, Deputy Director IPR Cell and inventor of this band shared, “This band is already patented and ready for commercial usage. The technology used in this band can be implemented in the existing smart band as well as we can make new band. The cost of the band is less thousand rupees and can be used easily. Our priority was to make this device for frontline warriors who were directly in contact with the virus prone areas.”

This band will give the real time feedback to the user if the hand of the user tries to touch the face and the band will stop the user to do so. According to a study it has been observed that a normal human being touches his face 23 times in one hour. So, this band will psychologically train the brain to stop touching the face.

Manbir Singh, CTU Managing Director and Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor congratulated the inventors and motivated the team to bring up more innovative ideas for the welfare of society.
