The two-day event aimed to promote physical fitness, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship, reflecting the school’s commitment to holistic education.

Jalandhar, December 21, 2025: CT Public School organised its grand Annual Sports Meet, CT Sportathon, with vibrant enthusiasm and energetic participation from students across all classes. The two-day event aimed to promote physical fitness, discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship, reflecting the school’s commitment to holistic education.


The programme commenced with a disciplined March Past, followed by a colourful opening ceremony featuring synchronised performances including Action in Sync, orchestra, butterfly dance, and energetic Bhangra, setting an atmosphere of excitement and celebration. A wide range of track and field events were conducted over two days, showcasing the students’ agility, coordination, endurance, and competitive spirit.


On Day 2, events included Grade 4 Three-Leg Race, Grade 5 Skipping Rope Race, Grade 6 100 Metre Race, Grade 7 200 Metre Race, Grade 8 400 Metre Race (Boys), Grade 8 200 Metre Race (Girls), Grade 9 4×100 Metre Mixed Relay, and Grade 11 4×100 Metre Relay (Boys). Fun-filled activities like Tug of War further added thrill to the celebration.


Students from Kindergarten and Grades 1 to 3 also showcased enthusiastic participation in age-appropriate races such as Ladder Race, Hockey Race, Ice Cream Race, Jelly Fish Race, Funny Bunny Race, and Colourful Carrot Race, adding joy and charm to the event with their cheerful performances.


In team events, the Cricket (Boys) results saw Kalpana Chawla House securing the first position, followed by Mother Teresa House in second place. In Basketball (Boys), Mother Teresa House claimed the first position, while Nelson Mandela House stood second. After keen competition across categories, Nelson Mandela House lifted the Overall Sports Trophy, with APJ Abdul Kalam House emerging as the runners-up.


The Chief Guest, Gurpreet Singh Bajwa, District Sports Officer, Jalandhar, a former national-level boxing medalist and experienced coach, appreciated the school’s sustained efforts in nurturing sports talent at the grassroots level. He encouraged students to adopt physical fitness as a lifelong habit and lauded the discipline and sportsmanship displayed during the event.


The event was graced by Mandeep Kaur, an accomplished international athlete, as the Guest of Honour. A specialist in athletics, she has represented India at several prestigious international competitions including the Indo–Pak Games, SAF Athletics Championship, Asian Grand Prix, and Asian Track and Field Championship. With multiple podium finishes at national and international levels and currently serving with the Indian Railways, her journey of dedication and perseverance served as a powerful source of inspiration for the students.


From the CT Group, the programme was presided over by Charanjit Singh Channi, Chairman, CT Group, whose visionary leadership continues to strengthen the institution’s focus on academic excellence and sports development. The event also witnessed the esteemed presence of Tanika Channi, Joint Managing Director; Dr. Nitin Tandon, Executive Director; and Dr. Anurag Sharma, Campus Director. Also present were Dr. Anju, Principal, B.Ed College; Arti Jaswal, Principal, CT World School; and Suman, Kindergarten In-charge, whose presence added prestige to the occasion.


Winners and participants were honoured during the felicitation ceremony, where achievers were awarded medals and certificates by the dignitaries. The guests applauded the confidence, discipline, and exemplary sportsmanship displayed by the students throughout the sports meet.


Manisha, Principal, CT Public School, in her address, expressed pride in the students’ spirited participation and consistent performance. She emphasised that sports play a vital role in shaping character, instilling discipline, and nurturing teamwork, and reaffirmed the school’s commitment to providing students with opportunities for balanced physical and academic growth.


The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the support of the management, guests, parents, teachers, staff, and students, making CT Sportathon a grand success and a true celebration of effort, endurance, and excellence.
