Jalandhar, September 8, 2026: Highlighting the growing importance of physiotherapy in modern healthcare, recovery and preventive wellness, CT Institute of Higher Studies, Shahpur Campus, CT Group of Institutions, celebrated World Physiotherapy Day 2026 through expert-led sessions and a live demonstration of advanced rehabilitation technology. The programme brought together specialists from orthopaedics, nutrition and spinal rehabilitation, offering students a multidisciplinary perspective on how physiotherapy today extends beyond injury recovery to improving mobility, preventing health complications and enhancing quality of life.

The celebration featured insightful sessions by Dr. Nitish Kapil, Consultant Orthopaedics, Fortis Hospital, Jalandhar, who spoke on Move Without Pain: Modern Orthopaedic Approaches to Mobility, Function & Recovery; Dt. Sakshi, HOD, Nutrition & Dietetics, Fortis Hospital, who highlighted the role of nutrition in bone and muscle health, recovery and overall wellness through her session Fuel Your Body • Build Your Health; and Gurwinder, Founder, Gurjot Spinal Rehab Centre, who shared valuable insights into spinal rehabilitation and recovery.

Adding a practical dimension to the celebration, the Med4Elite team, under the theme From Movement to Recovery, conducted a live demonstration of advanced rehabilitation technology. Aman Sharma, RSM – North India, Avanos Medical, USA, along with the Game Ready team, showcased modern rehabilitation applications involving controlled cold, heat, contrast and active compression, giving students an insight into the evolving technologies shaping contemporary physiotherapy practice.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across all years of the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) programme. The interaction with healthcare experts and exposure to advanced rehabilitation technologies enabled students to connect classroom learning with real-world clinical practices. The event provided them with a deeper understanding of the expanding scope of physiotherapy and the importance of an integrated approach involving orthopaedics, nutrition, rehabilitation and technology in patient care.

The event commenced with a green welcome and traditional lamp-lighting ceremony in the presence of Dr. Jayaashish Sethi, Director Campus, CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus; Dr. Seema Arora, Principal, CT Institute of Higher Studies; and Dr. Arun, HOD, Department of Physiotherapy, along with faculty members.
