CT Group organises International Conference on Sustainability: An era of transformation in human habitat

Jalandhar, May 2, 2022:  CT Institute of Architecture and Planning (CTIAP), South Campus, Shahpur organized its first International Conference on Sustainability as an era of transformation in human habitat. The conference brought experts and delegates from different countries to take stock of current knowledge, share information, and build consensus on the actions most needed to move forward in the respective fields.
 
Prof Dr. Jasdeep Kaur Dhami, Director Research, CT Group of Institutions welcomed the keynote speakers, delegates and presenters across the globe and outlined the aim and objectives of the conference. She also shared that they have received around 117 papers from different universities/institutes.
 
Ar. Vishal Sood illustrated the emergence of Sustainability in the Architecture and Urban Planning disciplines. He said, “The number of institutions where the concept of sustainability is being taught, either as compulsory or optional has been increasing enormously. There are hardly a few books on this subject written to highlight the traditional and contemporary trends of sustainable practices.”
 
Dr Elena Battaglini, Teressa, Rome (Senior Scientist in environmental and spatial sociology), Dr. Elena , keynote speaker discussed about researchers and practitioners attempting to approach sustainable development via fresh lenses in context of Europe. Their expanding efforts aim to describe, if not explain, how the multiple dimensions of many sustainable issues perceived in heritage, valued at the place-based level, can easily transcend urban boundaries with complex retroactions, as well as exploring new ways of addressing policies in much broader regional contexts, and even attempting to find new international alliances between cities.
 
Ar. Priya Kapoor, Senior Finance Business Partner, Bendigo Kangan Institute, Australia talked about sustainability scholars and practitioners are aiming at using new lenses in approaching sustainable development. Whereas Dr. Md Fuzail Jawaid and Ar. Mostafizur Rahman (Session Chair) discussed various issues to key note speakers, presenters, delegates, and one and all who contributed for the success of the conference and asked various queries related to the topic.
 
Dr. Manbir Singh, Managing Director, Dr. Rahul Malhotra, Campus Director and Ar. Shruti H Kapur, Principal CTIAP congratulated the organizing team for taking this conference to the new heights and also said that academicians and post graduate students from various universities and institutions, working professionals, research scholars from industry and research & development organizations across the different countries participated in this one day conference.
