CT Group of Institutions Hosts Grand Finale of Short Film Festival Season 3
CT Group of Institutions successfully hosted the grand finale of the CT Short Film Festival Season 3 at its South Campus, Shahpur, Jalandhar, celebrating creativity and cinematic excellence among young filmmakers from across the region.
Jalandhar: CT Group of Institutions successfully hosted the grand finale of the CT Short Film Festival Season 3 at its South Campus, Shahpur, Jalandhar, celebrating creativity and cinematic excellence among young filmmakers from across the region.
The festival witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 20 colleges and over 10 academies, bringing together budding filmmakers, animators, and content creators to showcase their talent across multiple categories, including Short Film, Reel Making, 2D Animation, 3D Animation, and Live Action VFX. The competition carried a total prize pool of ₹16,000.
The event was held at the Sardarni Manjit Kaur Auditorium in the esteemed presence of Director Campus Dr. Shiv Kumar, Director Admissions Dr. Vaneet Kumar Thakur, Deputy Director Admissions Dr. Munish Dhingra, Director CCPC and Principal CTIMT Dr. Nittan Arora, and Principal CTIAP Dr. Shruti Kapoor.
Renowned film director Dr. Harjit Singh graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The festival also witnessed the presence of popular Rangle Sardar group, celebrity music director Sukhdeep Sir, acclaimed actor Ashok Kalyan, Dr. Simran Sidhu, Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Doaba College, and Dr. Namrata Joshi, Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at GNDU Regional Campus.
Addressing the participants, the dignitaries appreciated the creativity and storytelling skills displayed by the students and emphasized the importance of such platforms in nurturing young talent and encouraging innovation in media and filmmaking.
In the 2D Animation category, Manoj from CT Group Maqsudan secured the first position and received a cash prize of ₹3100, followed by Gurnoor from Khalsa College, Amritsar, and Gouri from CT Group Maqsudan in the second and third positions respectively.
In the 3D Animation category, Rohit from GNA University won the first position with a cash prize of ₹3100, while Sumit Kumar Chautrasia from BPP Animation and Arjun Sai Vaidyanathan from Panjab University secured the second and third positions.
In the Live Action VFX category, Pranjal Pal from Chandigarh University bagged the first position with a cash prize of ₹3100. Rajveer Singh from BPP Animation secured the second position, followed by Gurnoor from Khalsa College, Amritsar in the third position.
In the Reel Making category, Rahul from Doaba College, Jalandhar won the first position along with a cash prize of ₹3100. Piyush from CT Group Shahpur secured the second position, while Gaganjit Singh from CT University, Ludhiana stood third.
In the Short Film category, Rishi from Khalsa College, Amritsar won the first position for the film Lahu Lekhe and received a cash prize of ₹3100. Anmol Thind from Doaba College, Jalandhar secured the second position for the film Khetan Da Raja, while Taranjeet Singh from Pro Aura Studios bagged the third position for the film Zindabaad Yariyan.
A Special Film Award in the Silent Film category was presented to Ashutosh and his team from CT Group, Shahpur, Jalandhar for their exceptional creativity.
Khalsa College, Amritsar was also awarded the Overall Trophy for their outstanding performance in the festival.
The CT Short Film Festival Season 3 concluded on a high note, providing a vibrant platform for young filmmakers to express their ideas, experiment with storytelling techniques, and gain industry exposure. The event reaffirmed CT Group’s commitment to promoting creativity, innovation, and artistic talent among students.
