Crackdown against Illicit liquor continues, Commissionerate Police seize 80000-litre lahan from Ladowal Bet Area

Ludhiana, March 26, 2022: Continuing its crackdown against illicit liquor mafia and people indulged in manufacturing illicit liquor, the Commissionerate Police on Saturday seized 80000-litre Lahan in Mand area of Ladowal adjoining to Satluj River. 

Disclosing this here today, Commissioner of Police (CP) Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that 
acting on tip-off, police team of CIA staff-1 conducted a search operation in Bet area of Ladowal area with the help of the boats. 

He said that the team recovered 80000-litre lahan and 30-litre licit liquor from the spot following which excise department was intimated immediately. 

He said that Lahan was destroyed at the spot under supervision of Police and Excise officials. 

He said that case has been registered under sections 61,1 and 14 of Excise Act in this regard. 

He said that the crackdown against illicit liquor would be intensified in coming days and strict action would be initiated against those found indulged in this malpractice.

Besides this, CP said that a major search operation has been initiated in the hot spots and no one would be spared. 

Bhullar said that clear directions have been issued to ACPs and SHOs to not let the sale of drugs in their jurisdictions otherwise strict action would be taken against them.
